We have in this house a very strict, no dogs on the couch rule, but this morning at 4am this was the scene I found in the living room.
He didn’t even have the decency to slink off guiltily, he woke up a little as I took the photo and then went promptly back to sleep, snoring his little head off!
bit like a teenager, then!

You know you’ve got the blogging bug if your first thought on finding this situation is to take a photo. I’m impressed you could locate a camera at 4am!
Looks pretty much at home there!
We have a dog who sulks if she doesn’t get on the couch. When the couch is “full” she pretends she wants out and as soon as someone gets up to open the door for her she quickly steals their couch spot.
I’ll bet he does that every night. Ours is just the same. Can’t blame them really. I’ve just read Mary’s comment and I agree. I’d have to find my glasses before I could find the camera and by then the moment would have passed.
I actually allow my dog to sleep on the couch. I figure he should enjoy the years he has left. But this morning when I got up, he was coming out of my college daughter’s bedroom, where he had evidently helped himself to the comfort of her soft bed. I did not scold him, but I will keep that door closed now.
Hah! He looks awfully comfortable…
You are all right he does look very comfortable and he probably does sleep there every night, though I do have to yell at him sometimes as he is lying at the foot of our bed (on the floor) snoring his head off, it is exactly like having another teenager, he sulks too!!
I was just browsing through knitting/dog blogs and your dog looks very much like mine, who also sleeps on my couch in the same way. I’d love to show you a picture.
My site is knitzoo.blogspot.com you can see some pictures there.
